Tranny = OWNED. OBL Dead! Next? We are off to a good start...whats next? :)

The orderly exit of all the at bc customers.

Maybe not as much as you think. Have you seen SWA's standard seat pitch compared to ATN's....or Delta's for that matter? If I had to sit in most regular coach seats for more than an hour, I'd seriously consider jumping the $$$$ for an upgrade, but SWA's cabin seating is pretty roomy by comparison.

Anecdotal evidence of course at this point primarily gained through customer feedback and the importance to fly in a cabin with assigned seating, pre-departure drinks, more personalized service, getting away from the unwashed masses, etc. Maybe it's more than you think.
Not sure of the $$$ difference between at BC and legacy F. Time will tell, however.

It doesn't seem that your forward cabin seats sellout until the day of the flight. Do you guys give the First class seats away at the last minute?

Generaly speaking, no, they are not given away. AirTran has conditioned the quasi-business traveller to get to the gate 1-2 hours early to buy a BC upgrade at the gate for 60-80 bucks more. Saves them 200-300 bucks one way. It seems to be a gamble that alot of customers take advantage of. Part of me will be sad to see that product go away. But if the plan is to go to all leather seats with more pitch and generate more revenue by adding more seats, I'm all for that.

Do AT's aircraft seem kinda nasty and grubby inside as compared to Southwest's? Or is it just me.

I feel like one cabin is comparable to a beater '85 Escort with Taco Bell wrappers on the floor and the other is a nice, barely used clean Toyota Camry.

Its you...you are used to your beater 85 escort with the taco bell wrappers, so that is what you envision on the road..

OK, sorry. It's just that I fly the dang thing (717), and jumpseat all the time, and I personally think most of them are disgusting. Even the front 12 seats.

I was a paying passenger on a purple -300 (sans sunroof option) twice last month and it looked and smelled (smelt?) like a new car.

For the record, I DO drive beaters with wrappers on the floor, but at least they're mine.
