Does anyone have experience of actually being litigated against after walking out on a training contract? If I leave my current employer I'd owe about $7K.

Let's say they litigated and won, if I lived in a different state, how would that affect the judgement?

How about making an offer to pay a % of the contract as a final settlement, anyone had sucess doing that?

All training contract stories welcome...

I'd be more worried about word getting out that you are the type, who doesn't live up to his side of the bargain. In this business word seems to travel fast and far, especially bad word.

If you think some rinky-dink outfit would give you any notice before closing the doors, then I also have a bridge to sell you. Leave the guy alone. No one knows his circumstances but him.

Very true, but I just thought he should keep what I suggested in mind.
