My sister is a pharmacist. Retail boring and work you like a dog. 1000 customers screaming at you all day (old sick folks). Liability is large too if you goof up. Six years of some serious chemistry. She likes hospital vs. retail. Then it gets interesting but the docs still treat you like a nurse.

Engineer job is probably understated at 75. Job is interesting but you never shoot an approach. That is what I do all day. Shoot approaches on weekends.

As Willie Nelson said, "let em be doctors and lawyers and such". Those two jobs still can't be beat for money. Autonomy is probably gone though.

Flying is still the most fun. MGMT just seems to keep wacking away at pay and benefits. Does Airliner flying get boring? Maybe the fighter jocks have it the best as far as job sat except when getting shot at.

My two cents for the day.

Yeah, but no one grows up dreaming about becoming a Pharmacist and a Pharmacy degree is like a 6 year program. The problem is that too many kids grow up with dreams about being pilots. They don't consider the pay and lifestyle until it is too late. Then most just become bitter. It's all supply and demand. Not much supply for licensed Phramacists and then consider the supply of pilots in the pipeline waiting to live the dream.

Yes, they do I had a high school friend that wanted to and became Pharmacologist check spelling? He started out making drugs & now he is a legal drug dealer sells to & restocks samples to pharmacies & doctors! I was beginning to wonder if he was selling some of the drugs on the side because he has some nice cars & beech house. Then he got devoiced hes debt became public & so did his wife!!! ouchhhhhhhhh. I would hate to be him!!!!

So, are you saying......

Professional Pilot is not listed in the top 50 jobs in America. I reviewed the rest of the list of 166 titles and did not see any aviation mentioned.
I remember better days.
http://money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/bestjobs/top50/index.html

Professional Pilot would have made the list, however, they spent the last year reading Flightinfo. After reading all of the b1tching and whineing on here, they concluded that Pilot should be on the WORST JOB List. Here are the top 10 worst jobs according to the research.

1. Professional Pilot
2. Crack Whore Trainee
3. Portal Potty Cleaner
4. Gay Flight Attendant
5. Regular Flight Attendant
6. Landing gear strut cleaner
7. Flight Dispatcher
8. NetJetWife's Husband
9. Undocumented Chicken Plucker
10. Suicide Bomber

BTW, Flying is still better than working.

LMAO! Great post, Hot!

On the Pharmacist issue, they neglect to tell you in school that you will be a pill passer AND retail store manager. A friend is doing that schtick. Not fun.TC

From CNN MONEY'S description of a pilot found at:
http://money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/bestjobs/snapshots/96.html

Average pay: $98,392

75% in this career make more than: $82,177 salary; $83,494 after bonuses
50% in this career make more than: $94,041 salary; $96,503 after bonuses
25% in this career make more than: $107,769 salary;$111,307 after bonuses

Top potential compensation (5% make more): $275,631

Total jobs 2004: 21,976
Forecast 2014: 25,670

They must be averaging CA's and FO's at the Major airlines only! They can't be including Mesa, CHQ, all the freight haulers, etc.

Curious how a Pharmacist's average pay is $91,998. Does Walgreens really pay a pill counter that much? Talking about an easy job.

Maybe some of these PFT schools should move in on the Pharmacy market....

There was an article in USA Today earlier this year about how there is a shortage of Pharmacist's. They said that students had numerous offers before they were even done with school.

The sales staff of the flight school I went to, never told me I'd be holding onto someone's accidentally deployed reserve pilot chute with one hand, flying a plane with the other and forcefully pinning a skydiver to the floor with my elbow while waiting for somebody to help get the 182 door closed.

It's amazing what those bastages don't tell you before you go to school.

My cousin is a pharmasist. If he is an indicator, then you must be a major anal retentive pedantic nerd to survive in that career.

He had these ceramic fish he purchased in the Caymans. Four to be exact, with dorsals dimishing in height. It was just a happy little family of nemo's swimming on his credenza.

I picked one up to admire the craftsmanship and replaced it within a millimeter of its original home.

He was hovering along behind me of course, and sure enough had to microscopically scootch it over a tad.

I think he likes his white smock with name tag too.

You need to play the Larry King/CNN/Celine Dion "Let dem touch does tings!" video for him and while you got him pre-occupied with that, get busy touching his things...
