If I was a real schmo Id tell everyone his name in a hope that someone out there would strand his PFT supporting A$$ some night..but I wont.. Just dont be a a$$hole to other people trying to get home..is that too much to ask?

Did you call him/his ops before hand to let him know you sure would appreciate a ride home before the flight originated?
 
if that captain bumped you for a pft f.o. while you were on company business, then you should remind him twice a day that he's a jacka$$ for the next calender month per company policy. also a call to the acp, and chief pilot should be in order.
