Wake Up,
"At 300 hours a military jet pilot has spent a fair amount of time in the goo, dropped bombs, engaged in dogfighting, flown formation (including aerobatics while in formation), and landed on an aircraft carrier (Navy). They do this without a "CA with them", and amazingly, without "killing themselves"."

Prior to those 300 hrs, military pilots must pass through some of the most difficult selection processess known to man. With the opportunity to wash out at every phase, the pressure is on!
All of the 300 hr PFT goobers that like to compare themselves to military pilots, get over it. We all have known military pilots and you are nothing like them. The only pressure 300 hr goobers feel is: will my parents cough up the next PFT ransom installment or is my credit card limit gonna strech far enough?
The difference? Merit and ability vs. credit rating.

Mesa people at the gate that treated me like a burden..

Mesa does not employ anyone in LAS, only pilots and f/as who are passing through in the middle of the night. Incidentally, HP cancelled about 40 flights Friday because they didn't have enough pilots in place. DAL cancelled quite a few on Saturday because of a software glitch. Better not fly on them, either.

Originally posted by Cappy The next time you run into a Mesa crew why don't you buy them a beer and tell them that as an ALPA pilot you will proudly support them during their next round of talks.

Excellent idea. Our MEC has been vacant on the 737 issue. If this becomes a reality, and I hope it never does, we had best earn Southwest rates or better. So, since our MEC is not talking to the pilot group at all, not even to inform us of industry average narrowbody rates or the ill effects of flying them for $60/hr, perhaps you can do us a favor and start asking our pilots about this subject. We're trying to put real leadership in place, but until that happens, your support rather than snobbery will be extremely beneficial.

Maybe you should re-read my post. I ended by stating, "Most flight schools can't compete with military training, but it definitely could be done."

Again, not saying that they are comparable, just saying it's possible

We all have known military pilots and you are nothing like them.

Actually, I am exactly like them.

Couldn't agree more.

Thought of the day

Guys, I must say I am afraid that this is going to be the "NEVERENDING" thread....keeps going and going and going, though it keeps it entertaining

Don't we have anything else better to piss and moan about?

Greasy Side Down!
