Nice photog. Would be cool if you could get a still of the aircraft at the end of the light trail. Don't know if that's possible or not.

It is possible but that would requie the most intense strobe light on the planet to go off and probably blind the crew right as they made their turn away from P-56 and the National Mall.

Sure,

Tripod, low winds, cable release, manual focus (auto doesn't seem to work so well for dark shots), 35 second exposure, used photoshop to clone out some hot pixels and grain in the sky, sharpened it a tad using the USM filter and save.
