TRI-STATE CAREFLIGHT (King Air Captains)
Web Site: none

Sorry, cant figure out how to paste it.

So the guy/gal got a multi engine PIC job @ 1000 hrs and a turboprop PIC job @ 2000 hrs!?!? I'm sorry, but I know J41 capt at TSA that meet one or two of the requirments and fly bigger planes with more pax. Some of these jobs that they advertise on these sites are a little off. Oh yah, 100 in type...... wouldn't you have to go thru training with a new company anyway?

What is this industry coming to?

You probably start @ 27K a year with six days not on call, hun!?

Just get tired of seeing these stupid time reqs.

Essentially - I agree. The times for this position are out of line (unless the compensation is out of line, at the high end that is). Heck - I know guys with under 1000 flying those RJs around. Put one of those in the dirt and you'll affect the bottom line at a Legacy carrier. But put this King Air in the weeds and all you'll do is fuel America's fear of GA on the 3rd page of local newspapers. Doesn't make much sense. So you need those posted times for that? I don't think so. I saw their King Air in DRO this week. Might be fun to be based in DRO - if you're into the mountain thing (and experienced to fly up there as well). Ah Well...

I live in FMN, just south of DRO. Personally, I think DRO is one of the nicest small towns I've ever been to. Winters are cold though...

$50k/yr would go pretty far in NM, but it would suck to live on that in the durango area. Houses up there go for $400k a pop easy.

I dont understand what the problem is. Its not the number of seats in the plane that drives the time requiremnts. It the insurance company in this instance.

Kings Airs are single pilot and if its in the mountains, single pilot IFR and Air amblulance, Thats gunna be some hard flying at all hours of the days and nights.

King air in general are harder to fly than Jets.

The job ad says it is because of insurance requirements. If they are a new startup, they will probably have high requirements for insurance.

Durango would be nice though, just figure on never buying a house :)

Most air ambulance PIC jobs require at least 2000TT, because the organization that gives accreditation to air med companies requires that much.

...am i the only one who cant see the problem???
