Trust me, I used to think the exact same... Then I stepped away from the Union propoganda machine, made inquiries to Union Board members, and reviewed every thing I could over the last 2-3 years....

My personal conclusion was much rosier, based solely on what I researched. I of course hope I am right. And in no way discredit your view, as it's a popular and perfectly feasible opinion as well.

Wow!! that is alot of IPADS.... At a discount of say $400 per, that's a million bucks just for the purchase. Not counting any subscriptions or extra's....

Subscription savings for normal North American coverage when going from paper to electronic is in the range of $2,000. Doesn't take very long to recover the capital outlay for the iPad hardware. Apple probably wouldn't give more than a 10% discount but even at that rate the payback will happen in under two years.

Sounds to me like a sound business decision.

Hell Yeah

Shrink to Win is always good. Especially if you like "Banana Hammicks"

I resigned my number at Netjets to go back to the 121 world with no regrets. The only people who like Netjets better are the one who have not worked for a major 121 carrier.

Not completely true... 2 121 carriers here. Liked NJA much better... Of course I like to spend as little time not getting paid to commute as possible. Also don't enjoy the same airport food everyday for 4 days a week.

Was it a regional, national, or major ?

Too bad they couldn't just add the price of an iPad to our uniform allowance and we could get them from the same place. Probably wouldn't take any longer and they wouldn't be bogged down with all the SHaredIT dept cr@p.
I can have my FOM on my own iPad or in a company issued blue binder and anyone can look at it. Put it on a company issued iPad and I've got to enter more passwords than a double-naught spy with MI-6.

Remember, it's the companies phone, fom, uniform, airplanes, and iPads. It's telling in how much trust they have in you. Sadly.
