Wow, no APUs. This could get rather tiring rather soon.

And W&B is probably going to be entertaining.

I guess I have not heard this one. Who is it and where are they flying?

Freedom Airlines, operated by Mesa Air Group.

This will fly as Delta Connection from JFK. Last I heard, pilots are "outstation" based, so like based in SYR, ALB, PHL, etc. Not sure if JFK is a Dash 8 base for Freedom/Mesa Air Group.

Ya but you can make $26 an hour as a street captain with 5.2 days off a month. If anybody is wondering were the bottom is. Here is your answer. Excluding Blowjets of course.

After reading the XJ Alpa message board, maybe that isn't true... we just had an FO leave for a street captain seat at Freedom. We should know for sure any time now...the court ruling should be out anytime now.

The airplane listed is serial number 47... That thing is iolder than most crews that are flying the thing are!

Damn. That's new compared to PDTs. Still got good ole S/N 009.

Well that really sucks to see them with "freedum" on the side.

009 is 906HA.

Just think of it... No big gaspers, no APU. You Freedom guys are gonna love that thing in the summer. The cockpit will never cool off!

$26/hr is incorrect !

First year captain pay for the Dash 8 is $39.16 and with a minimum pay guarantee of 70 hours in a 28 day-bid period.

A rough calculation to get what the "monthly" gurantee is:

Mesa has 13 of the 28-day bid periods per year. So 13 bid periods * 70 hours minimum gurantee per bid period = 910 hours of pay per year, minimum.

910 hour of pay per year / 12 months ~ 76 hours guarantee for an average month.

OK, it still sucks.......

The next beer I drink is for you guys getting a better deal with the next contract.

They are JFK based but they base the crews at the outstations, (SYR,PVD, etc). Do they really pay the captains $39/hr?

Yes to pay, and yes to outstation based.

I cannot confirm if JFK is also a pilot base itself. Logic should dictate that at the very minimum, Mesa (Freedom) should establish a reserve pilot base at JFK. But again, logic and Mesa really don't belong in the same sentence.
