Americans buy cheaper drugs in Canada, but do you ever hear of Americans going to Canada because its healthcare is better QUALITY? Nope. Hmmmmmm. Get ready to watch the quality of healthcare decrease (rationing due to more demand than the system can withstand will cause lines for "uncommon" procedures) while everyone's taxes increase (yes, especially the Middle Class) and unemployment increases. Job creation will plummet if small businesses are FORCED to pay for employee healthcare when outsourcing and adding replacement technology (with no healthcare benefits) is an option. Just think about it - what would you do if you were a business owner in a competitive industry with tight margins??????

I hope all you Obama supporters enjoy Socialism...

I know, I have some funny ideas. I also believe if you're a white male with at least a high school diploma and you're not a millionaire, you're under-achieving.

And being a beneficiary of something you're not paying your share for is called welfare or socialism...we all know how good those programs work!

Your assessment of the rich and their well-being, is based on envy...pure and simple!!!

Socialism is a completely failed model. Why the he!! does anyone believe this crap is going to work. The redistribution of wealth has never worked!!!! This is proven by our income tax system, and other societies. The permanent federal income tax implemented in 1913, was design for this exact purpose...tax the rich to pay for social programs for the poor and needy. Lemmings...tell me why the middle class pays taxes today, and why the federal government is completely broke and adding trillions of dollars of debt every year? You still think it works?

Our country is being destroyed, and most of us will see it in our lifetime if things don't change. Would you people wake up!!!!

Before you Che Guevaras respond, you need to look at my post history to see how smart I am. You don't want mess with me! :uzi:

Oh...BTW!

Don't try and debate me on the validity of social medicine either.

My family and I have lived and worked the EU. My experiences are first hand. There's no way Americans will put up with or be subjected to its quality.

While the use of the word "Options" to describe the basic medical insurance that they are require to have may be wrong, but it is an Option to buy extra private medical insurance which is not required.

In the end it comes down to should the government set a minimum standard of medical care all citizens should have.

I believe that it should.

The 'OPTION' to have 'EXTRA' Private medical insurance:
I lived in Ireland...they have this system...if you don't pay for private medical insurance, you are subjected to highly substandard public system. You know that it's substandard when the best surgical facility in all of Ireland is on a stud farm southwest of Dublin.

You have no idea what your talking about, and stop quoting wikipedia.com!

The Minimum Standard for MEdical Care:
Last time I checked the US was the gold standard for medical care. Otherwise why did King Hussein go to Rochester, MN for his medical treatment? Unfortunately, high end products come with a price. The debate is who pays for the price? Beneficiaries, or the Rich? Capitalism, or Socialism?

My doctor supports it as well as his Medical Association, I guess that he is not worried about the government getting between us.

American Medical Association Supports H.R. 3200, “America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009″

Released July 16, 2009
House bill expands access to high quality, affordable health care for Americans
Today, the American Medical Association sent a letter to House leaders supporting H.R. 3200, “America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009.”
“This legislation includes a broad range of provisions that are key to effective, comprehensive health system reform,” said J. James Rohack, MD, AMA president.
“We urge the House committees of jurisdiction to pass the bill for consideration by the full House.” H.R. 3200 includes provisions key to effective, comprehensive health reform, including:

  • Coverage to all Americans through health insurance market reforms
  • A choice of plans through a health insurance exchange
  • An end to coverage denials based on pre-existing conditions
  • Fundamental Medicare reform, including repeal of the flawed sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula
  • Additional funding for primary care services, without reductions on specialty care
  • Individual responsibility for health insurance, including premium assistance to those who need it
  • Prevention and wellness initiatives to help keep Americans healthy
  • Initiatives to address physician workforce concerns
“The status quo is unacceptable,” Dr. Rohack said. “We support passage of H.R. 3200, and we look forward to additional constructive dialogue as the long process of passing a health reform bill continues. This is an important step, but one of many steps in the process. The AMA is actively engaged with Congress and the administration to achieve health reform that best meets the needs of patients and physicians. We are committed to passing health reform this year consistent withprinciples of pluralism, freedom of choice, freedom of practice, and universal access for patients.”

Man you're smart!
Che Guevara was a doctor too...and he did a lot for Cuba!

Next!

I'm sorry if I seem too harsh about this...I'm normally a pleasant, positive, and cheerful guy. :p However, when it comes to the direction of this country, I loose sleep!

I'm on the bottom of a seniority list, and I don't worry about furloughs. I worry about what's in store for my children 10-20 years from now, as much as their lifestyle and security today.

And for you Obama and Bush haters out there...this is not something that happened overnight or even in the last decade. What we're reaping today is the product of sowing decades ago...sown by the very people of this great nation! It's easy to point fingers at politicians and CEOs, when, in fact, we're the ones with power and liberty.

Of course, much of this will fall on deaf ears.

A diagnosis for a manic episode includes either an elevated or an irritable mood lasting at least a week plus three or more of the following symptoms:

Talking too fast or too much
Risky or impulsive behavior, like sexual promiscuity or excessive spending sprees
Needing little sleep
Being easily distracted (your attention shifts between many topics in just a few minutes)
Having an inflated feeling of power, greatness, or importance
Intense focus on goal-directed activity
Racing thoughts

It's ok brother, we're going to get through this together.

I was being sarcastic and at the same time trying ignite debate...of course, to show how smart I am. ;)

In regards to your latter remark...what do you propose will be the exit strategy of incurring so much government debt?

...what do you propose will be the exit strategy of incurring so much government debt?

They aren't proposing, they're doing. It's called monetizing the debt. You turn on the printing press and let it run. In two years, voila: all those dollars you spent are only worth 1/3rd of what they were worth when you initially spent them.

I told you months ago: Carter Part Deux
