More than a 30 min flight and my ass starts hurting really bad
Godvek said:I would rather sit in a DC8, DC9, DC10, MD11, MD80, 717, 727, 737, 747, 757, 767, 777, A300, A310, A320, A330, or A340 anyday versus a barbie jet or turboprop. More than a 30 min flight and my ass starts hurting really bad.
utahpilot said:what about the worst actual jumpseat to ride in? man I hate the 737. If you're over 5'6" you're hatin' it.
Dangerkitty said:Have you ever been on an EMB-120 or an EMB-145 Jumpseat? Pure torture.
wait, those aircraft have jumpseats? holy crap. from what i've seen of the cockpit walking in as a passenger, there is NO room for a third body in there.Dangerkitty said:Have you ever been on an EMB-120 or an EMB-145 Jumpseat? Pure torture.

well, to boost company morale, i think that the jumpseater ought to get the FA's seat and the FA's will sit in their laps. of course, if you FA is a guy.....Dangerkitty said:There isn't any room for a third person but they still managed to squeeze a jumpseat up there. It's ugly to say the least. But if you are trying to get to work you gotta do what you gotta do.

Mmmmmm Burritos said:Nobody has said the mighty Beech 1900? Does it even qualify as an "airliner"?
Dangerkitty said:Contrary to the recorded Raytheon Briefing anouncement the Beech 1900 is nothing more than a long King Air. Thus No Jumpseat.
By the way, who in the heck is that guy in your avatar?
Bubba,I'm with you on that ! Geez,it's a torture device.USAir has a few,one has the "No booking fees-no brainer" logo on it.The 'Bus is not too bad-you can even put your Purdy Neat under the jumpseat, plus, when you're standing in the cockpit doorway to leave, the deplaning pax say "Thank You !" before you can say "I didn't do nuddin',I was jus' hitchin' a ride".I don't like the DC-9 because you're sitting in the doorway passing paperwork over your head, but the footpegs are nice.As for sittin' in the back:FreedomAList said:Oh wait, you said "airliner cabin". Mesa is a "regional airline", and regional airlines are to real airlines what cheeze whizz is to finely aged sharp cheddar.
(re: looks like cheese, takes kinda like cheese, but it sure ain't cheese)
So I guess I'd say the 2nd jumpseat (ok, technically not a cabin seat) in the 737-200 is a fine demonstration on how badly pilots would rather contort themselves into unnatural (and painful)positions rather than actually purchase a seat. Cheap bastid's, aren't we. . .![]()

ZachPilot said:I'd have to say the Jetstream 31's seat 1A. Nothing to look at but the bulk head 6 inches from your face and after a few minutes you're left with a permanent lean to the right. Seat 1C is just as bad.
