Doing a new hires IOE in the ATR. Just departed EWR about 500 overcast rain, mist. Couple minutes after take off #2 pukes the oil and catches fire. He was a good guy but with only about 15 hours in the plane and not much actual time kind of there for the ride. Came back in on #1 pretty much single pilot to shot the approach.
