Did you know that there is a hidden arrow in the FedEx logo?

Appearently it is quite famous in the world of logo designers.

I should have stuck with graphic design.

I never noticed it until about a year ago at MDA the Capt I was with pointed it out. Now everytime I see a fdx plane I see it.

There's a dome that looks like an igloo in the "e". Everytime I see that, I think of the eskimos that line the runway and wave every time I land a caravan in that eskimo igloo of a town that I fly into. Goonie Goo Goo.

I wrote a term paper on the use of the arrow and its creator and its application with fedex.

OTOH, half of all NW aircraft logos point NE.

True, for the new one.

The old NWA logo, with the NW pointing triangle, or the super imposed NW (depending on how you look at it), was truly brilliant. I was sad that they replaced it.

Yeah -- that was a nice design. I still miss the Orient, though.

That was a pretty cool article. I had never seen the arrow. Now I can't turn away, it is all I can see.

Very cool.

Thanks,

FJ

About a year ago, NBC did a thing on Nightly News about a guy that makes a living finding hidden things like that. The FedEx arrow was the trailer and a big part of the program.

A buddy pointed it out last year. First thing my eye goes to everytime I see the logo, sticks out like a sore thumb.

There's also a guy (disguised as an e) doing some eight ball (but the 8 is removed from the symbolic eight ball). Very fishy....very fishy indeed!

Ah, he's full of it! Betcha it was an accident or coincidence! They were probably doing acid one night and the arrow jumped out at them!

And on another note, all of the US Airways fleet has the american flag backwards next to the n#, right-side. How un-patriotic!!!

That's correct...the flag is always supposed to be advancing, not retreating.

I was hoping the the new design would either get it right or eliminate the flag altogether, but such was not the case.

All airplanes that I have seen have the flag that way. If I remember right, it is the view you would have of the flag as if it was waving in the wind on the plane.
