This is always said when companies are in trouble.

Really??? I have had people with inside knowledge explain it to me in great detail, and it is a cash cow. Now you believe what you want to believe, that is your right. The actual numbers are mind bending. As G-V guy stated it was a 80million dollar loss, which is the number I was told, not whatvever the other number was.

Now for the guys in CMH not getting raises, I'm sorry about that. However when Billy Boustire hires, somewhere around 200 is the number I heard, people for positions that didn't exist before his arrival, then I agree, why give a raise to people that aren't going to be around in a month or so... After the purge, then I bet there will be raises.

Don't make it sound like the sky if falling! The msg said there would be a delay, not an indefinite freeze. The man is sorting through the mess BB made in the casino and Easton. I feel for the people that were counting on the review/raise! I'm waiting for the first post blaming us mean nasty pilots for the delay!

How typical and completely hypocritical! This whole thread is about blaming problems the company is facing on BB and the entire CMH crew. We have more class than that to blame you! My only problem with the crew during contract negotiations was your work ethic. Productivity has increased ten-fold since the contract was signed, coincidence? We, crew service, have always been your biggest supporter for a pay increase and don't blame the loss (nor would we ever) on you!

And the pilots have been the biggest supporters of crew services getting a raise PLUS more POWER. Crew services should have the right to say do this or do that or thats bullshiate but they can't. They have to call or send an email. It's not right because they are seeing the same pic as everyone else.

Nobody is blaming anyone except boisture for the screwup and carnage that he left in his wake.

When we start getting kicked out of hotels because the bill isnt paid or nobody will sell us fuel or no vendors will sell us parts, then we know things are bad. Almost forgot, when the check bounces, then we know our fate is pending. Until then, it's all good.

Exactamundo!!!!!!! As Fonzy would say! When the nice ladies at Signature start turning us away and they repo my Hilton Diamond card, then and only then will I be worried.

Because flightsafety is under NetJets Services and DQ is part of BH..

Al Ueltschi will be amazed to hear that...

Actually, FSI and Netjets are a part of BK Flight Services which is in turn a part of BK Non Insurance Businesses as is Dairy Queen, Lane, Shaw Industries and so forth.

The Insurance and Reinsurance Businesses are comprised of the following sub-groups: (1) GEICO and its subsidiaries, (2) General Re and its subsidiaries, (3) Berkshire Hathaway Reinsurance Group, and (4) Berkshire Hathaway Primary Group.

Flight Safety International is no more a part of NetJets than Geico is a part of General RE.

Speaking of who owns who....Is Berkshire as a whole making good $$$ in this economy? I have $$ in a 401K that needs to go somewhere.

Baja.

This is what it closed at today.

89,899.00 +699.00 +0.78%

Its kind of a crap shoot. Half the analysts say "Strong Buy" the other half say "Hold". It's good on the fundamentals, but it has been trading in the same $8,000 range for the last 18 months and is down from it's high of $92,000 two years ago.

Imagine the posts

Imagine the posts on this board if a NJA pilot admits to owning Bershire shares. He (as a shareholder) would profit from the events so often discussed on this board.

Owner,
If I could afford some shares I would buy them. I think that uncle Warren is a genius, inspit of what is said about NJA on this site, it is a good place to work and can only get better.

You could try BRK.B instead of BRK.A. "B" trades at:

2,995.00 +10.00 +0.34%

An issue that concerns me is that Warren Buffett will be 76 in August with no apparent successor.

He has named a successor. It's not public information yet. Saw it in the paper last weekend.

Okay, he has an unannounced named successor with an unknown track record...still makes you think about calling your broker to find another Blue Chip.

I'm a NJA pilot and I do have BRK-B stock. I like my company, and while they are sometimes at odds with my interests it is still a pretty good place to work.

The future of the company will certainly be interesting to see. The fact is that EJA was never particularly successful prior to Netjets and while there has been success, when a company is owned by someone like BRK, they are held to a standard far different than an airline.
The model was successful during the early growth periods but as companies mature, sometimes they fail to continue the early success and cannot achieve the continued number increases that publicly owned companies demand. It would not surprise me to see the company taken back private or sold to an international finance company. I personally see the card programs as causing unforseen problems that could have a detrimental effect more so than increased costs from the new contract. If you have 2 companies like FlightSAfety and Netjets and you can make a good buck with the training with half the problems, you figure what you would do.

BRK Successor

Last week WB announced that his son, Howard, would be the Chairman of the Board, but the CEO successor has not been publily named. The morning line has colt by the initials of RTS as the even money favorite (if he wants it).

Fly safe.

I heard that rumor a couple of years ago - that Richard Santulli was being groomed to take Warren Buffett's place.

A pilot who was a Berkshire Hathaway shareholder and a member of Teamster's Local 1108 would probably lose his medical when he was diagnosed as a schizophrenic.
