Xtra got fined 300k for the same thing. I think that they are on a payment plan so it didn't kill the airline. I am sure skyking will do the same. I can't believe that the contract airlines are responsible for the passengers when they are not the ones running the show.

Updated article:

Sky King did receive a bit of good news on Thursday. Gene Conrad, Lakeland Linder airport director, forwarded a press release he received from the company that shows it has secured financing.

"The private investment consortium providing the financing is represented by Dr. Daniel Carson, an experienced aviation executive and entrepreneur," the press release stated.

"Sky King and the investment group have not announced plans for the company but are certain the airline will put forth a formal plan of reorganization in the near future."

Sky King moved some of its offices from California to Lakeland in 2010. It employed 235 people, including about 50 in an 8,480-square-foot space at Lakeland Linder. It's unclear how many employees work at Sky King now. Visconti did not return a phone message.

The company continues to operate out of Lakeland. Conrad said Sky King flies three planes from Miami to Cuba on a regular basis.

I wouldn't bet the farm on this deal. I hear rumors that FV has run out this press release a little early just to sooth very worried creditors, employees and customers.

I am hoping for the sake of the few good people (very few) that this deal is real. It would seem that if this deal happens it is going to get VERY interesting for the current management team. Polish up those resumes.

My sources tell me there is serious in fighting at the top of SK. The toxic environment of FV, JB and RC may be coming to a close, but it seems those losers will not walk away peacefully. It is rumored that they are trying to scuttle SK from the inside before departure, just to try and damage DC.

Classy moves if you think about it, come to SK, steal, rape and pillage. Furlough hard working crew members out of seniority, fire people for ridiculous trumped up charges and then hire your former ATA buddies in as Captain. Or as its rumored with FV, form a maintenance company with the DOM and then use that as a tool to milk the SK cow. These guys don't deserve to ever have a decent job in this industry again. Maybe the guys at Swift will hire them...JC and BVL. NOW there is a match made in heaven, a utter bastion of ethics.

Good Luck to all the hard working SK folks. You guys/girls did not deserve any of this and hopefully DC will bring you out of the darkest hours.

Those idiots want to scuttle it from the inside because as long as Sky King exists, a testimony to their disgusting and unethical behavior will be maintained as a matter of record. Yes, Swift may be the last sewage pit they can writhe in.

I'm former ATA, and I feel unclean very time I think of those two pricks. And the little Napolean guy should be manning the ticket window to an all-male leather bathhouse, not attempting to run (or steal from) an air carrier.
