Wasn't that a split S?

And you guys are going nuts over it??

Man, some of you kids need to get out of the house more often.. It really sucks to know that if you do a Split S without a parachute in your own friggin airplane your going to have some internet safety ranger trying to pull your ticket..

I mean, the Captain Bob thing, is totally different than some kid doing a split S at like 5K up.. given, he looks like a total homo in his profile, but still.. I see nothing safety wise to shred this kid about.. now, if you want to call him on being a total poser.. sure, shred away, this guy is the snap on of tools... :)

Hehe.. something I just pulled off cool Chris' myspace

Its not doing a split s in your own airplane, its doing a split s in your own airplane and taking a video of it and posting it on the internet.

Ohh..

Umm, so would it be ok with the safety nazi's to take video of it and not post it?

I agree with McJohn..It's not like he's doing this at 30 feet..At least he has a pretty good safety margin as far as his altitude..

My first unusual attitude was a split-S...and I learned at SPARTAN!!

Whatup? No biggie...looked like a C-152...been there, done that with and without students. They got's to know how to deal with the unusual crap they'll get themselves into someday. Personally I recommend you go to an Upset Training School and not go out and practice on your own!

He lists his income as 250,000K and higher :) That's probably his parent's debt to Embry Riddle.

What I think is funny - is that in one of the comments to his video, he talks about all these DecathElons, Citabria's and Extra's he flies.. Where are the video's from these? :) If I was out mixing it up in an extra, I sure think I could come up with a better video that me "corkscrewing" in a 72.. :)

In another comment - someone asks him if he's had an engine failure and his macho, hardcore 250K makin answer is "Yes, MANY, why?" Sounds like someone's been flying some top-o-d-line Extra's.. :)

Man, the internet is a crazy thing.. Looks like Chris may have been having trouble his entire life.. I'm not 1000% sure this is the same Chris Karling, but they are both in Wi.. :)

He has some hot women on his myspace webpage. What is the big deal, so he spun a plane. I recall a video of a 707 doings a roll. Now that is something to talk about.

What was that? Not a spin entry...maybe a sloppy half wingover or a wimpy split s.

I had an instructor do something like that once and tried to tell me it was a spin recovery. I went and took Bill Kershner's spin course and learned a thing or two....or twenty. It's only technically a spin after it's stable and won't recover on its own by releasing the controls (3 revs).

Additionally, the only ones anyone ought to brag about are the ones (quote) "done in an appropriate airplane, with parachutes, with a qualified instructor and with the fuel unported and the engine stopped" ...unquote...as in after revolution #13 or so. I wish I had a video of that famous 20 turn spin...

That was some great fun, and the best money I ever spent. Stall recoveries botched by students didn't phase me ever again.
