Can anyone recommend some inexpensive, yet good health insurance for family needs? I'm out of the military at the end of the month. The Tricare Cobra plan seems a little pricey. Need something to tide us over for a while. Thanks.

Hlth Ins

I recently purchases a plan from USAA's affiliate, Fortis. I have no idea how good they are, but their rates were quite inexpensive compared to other companies. Mine is just a catastrophic plan with a good size deductible....no more taking the kids to the Doctor for a runny nose etc... that arm better be broken this time!!

I got it for 4 months and paid all the premiums up front, thereby reducing the cost of a monthly premium. I only did 4 months because I'm hoping/praying that come late spring/early summer I'll be eating BBQ down in Memphis while getting indoctrinated on how to bleed purple.

Good Luck
