Teaching the wife to fly

I haven't instructed in the US since 2004 and overseas since 2005 and I know many things have changed.
How would I go about teaching the wife(not a US citizen) to fly on our own airplane in the States?

You may want to start with the TSA requirements on non citizens and primary flight training.

Two things to never teach your spouse: Stick shift, and flying.

I tried to teach my wife to fly, she was not a bad pilot, but giving instruction was interesting, I would say "Today we are going to do "S" turn"s, she would respond "S" turns are stupid, lets do some more spins they are really fun" She hated talking on the radio and for that reason would not solo, even at an uncontrolled airport. She is a great pitch hitter and could easily and safely get the airplane on the ground if needed.

I am beginning to think that paying for an instructor would be better in the long run......
