Brew the bags, add the sugar whilst the tea is still hot and stir really well. Let the tea cool to room temp, and serve directly over ice. *yummy* Now I want to go make some sweet tea :)

And ummm.....shouldn't that be Happy Mother's Day to all the Mother's on the board?? ;)

Here it is

I've been using Teatley Tea. Get a pitcher, and a tea kettle...
3/4 cups of sugar in the pitcher...
Boil water.. while water is boiling, cut up a lemon...
Pour water in pitcher and mix the sugar around.
put two tea bags (family size tea bags)
mix them around, and then let it sit for 5 minutes
squeeze out the tea bags, throw away...
squeeze in the lemons and put them in the pitcher
fill the rest of the pitcher with ice and let it sit in the fridge for about an hour...
as the day(s) progress, it gets better, and the last glass, gives you a good zing!
Enjoy

I brew my tea in a stone quart pitcher, nothing else is allowed in it. Never wash it with soap, only hot water.

Microwave four cup of water to a boil. Add enough cold water to cool below a boil, (I never boil my tea bags) add three family size tea bags to make one gallon of tea. Let stand for no less than two hours, longer is better.

Glass containers are best for mix and serve. Plastic is ok if not used for anything else "Like Cool-aid" you never get that taste out of plastic.

Anybody remember sun tea? Fill a gallon glass jug with cold water, add tea bags, set it outside in the sun all day, remove bags, add sugar and enjoy the best.

Making good sweet tea is like good Bar-B-Q, it's an art, and must be learned.

Brew using one of the forementioned methods, add ice. Then add rum, vodka, and amaretto until you can't see straight...:D :D

SK:cool:

101 Wild Turkey in sweet tea is...uh...dangerous...but, goooood!

You can make that at work.

Ramp Tea-

Take a bottle of water from the galley, stuff four or five tea bags through the neck and screw the cap back on. Put the bottle on the ramp where the sun is shining on it, but where it can't be run over by a tug or the fuel truck. Wait several hours. Add sugar to taste and pour over ice.

I just had an idea.... I'm going to try using Bacardi Citron or one of the other fruity flavors. I can almost feel the buzz now!!

Now that sounds like some freight dog tea there :) I will have to give that a try.

A nice tall Long Island ice tea is pretty hard to beat while being lazy in the Hampton's during the summer months.
