I'm an FO for a regional. Getting ready to renew my CFI. Do any of you fellow 121'ers tax deduct the expense of the renewal? I can't decide if it's legal or not.

Dont take tax advice from pilots.

You can deduct anything you want. You better be able to defend it per the tax code. Refer to irs.gov and search for your own answers. At audit time YOU are the one facing the pentalties (which can be severe). Don't listen to dopey pilots when it comes tax time.
