These pictures are for real. This incident happened to a BAX Global cargo plane that left from Minneapolis on its way to Calgary on August 10, 2006. How scary. If you read below, the 1st office quit on the spot when they arrived in Calgary. In talking to our Commercial Management and Airline
Affairs department, I guess it's very common for cargo planes to try and go
right through storms instead of around them (which is what commercial
aircrafts (passenger carrying planes) do).

BAX Global contract plane on it's way to Calgary ran into some hail.

This aircraft left our cargo ramp yesterday morning going to Calgary, and
got caught in a hail storm, the 1st officer quit on the spot when he got off
the plane.(you will know why when you see his windshield)

Looks like hail to me. I want to see want the engines and wings look like!

Well hail literally shot down a DC-9 in the late 70's-destroyed the compressor sections on both engines.

Somewhere I saw a picture of a Baron with the leading edges smashed flat against the main spar of the wing.

Hail is not something one wants to frack around with regardless of the size of the aircraft.

Can you imagine what that must have sounded like? I've had a few birdstrikes but OMG! Like being inside a machinegun! Like someone once told me "don't look out there, it's scary!"

so cappy was flying freight for BAX? Does BAX have any airplanes or are they all ATIs? no more bax 727s either, right?

Ridiculous. I flew a flight from Africa to Europe recently. About halfway throught the flight we encountered a large area of thunderstorms. We ended up going approximately 120nm out of the way to avoid the area. Guess how many minutes it cost us?

ZERO, ZIP, NADA!

I got a kick out of the recent Freight Dog Stories thread where all those guys were talking about going through level 5's and crap like that.
How full of s h i t those guys are!
Especially the one's driving 210's, Barons and the like. Yeah, right.
