Syracuse Colgan base

Hi all,

Starting training on the B1900 soon, and I was wondering if anyone knows how easy it is to get Syracuse as a base right out of training. Also, I know some bases have you sitting reserve more than others - how is SYR when it comes to this?

I thought Syr became a Saab base a few months ago.

SYR is a Saab only base. So your chances of getting it in the Beech are nil.

Y'all forgot Lebanon, NH is also a Be-1900 base. As for SYR, it has been a Beech base twice and closed twice in the last two years. Typically, this occurs in the winter when operations shift to the southestern portion of the system. I'd not count it out, but I'd certainly not plan on it.
There is a possibility that some of the other Beech bases may be in flex as well, but we'll have to see how the EAS contracts that are up shake out.

Depend on where you live and what you want. Lots of time in HYA and AUG, lots of interesting flying in ALB...what you want...up to you.

When I finished class a couple of months ago, Beckley was available straight out of class. I've been waiting to build seniority so that I can get my base changed to ALB. I think SHD would be open right out of class, too. I'm at HYA right now. Nice place, but it's EXPENSIVE to exist there. More bikinis every week.... summer's coming.
