Pilots pay is pretty safe for the time being.

It depends on whether the next big economic event happens before or after UAL/CAL, AMR, and USAirways finish their next CBAs. If they finish their deals first, then our pay will be pretty safe. If they don't, then we're in a bad position, along with Delta, Alaska, and Hawaiian. You don't want to be 20-50% above everyone else when the bad economic conditions hit the next time. That's a recipe for massive concessions, forced through bankruptcy if necessary. We need to get everyone up to a level playing field before the next economic bomb hits. The wide disparity in pay from one carrier to the next is what screwed everyone over in bankruptcy on the last go around.

Not going to need a paycut when Delta gets their SWA plus contract, when dispatchers just received a 38% pay increase, when FA's get more money for less work ala the 800, when the CEO takes home a pay increase of 30-50%. Pilots pay is pretty safe for the time being. Nuke Iran, and all bets are off.

Did the dispatchers get capt pay?

They got FO pay, get to sit in a chair, 1G, zero knots, go home no matter what every night and they get F***ing FO pay.

Hmmm where and when has that been said before? United in 2000 comes to mind, delta in 01. Pain is comming, top in pay for ramp, F/A's, the best sick policy in the industry that is being abused To the point it is the number one priority for the company. If you can't see that the gravey train is pulling in the station then the cool aid is thicker than I thought.
Different scenario, I think UAL pilots talked about "someone else plus some %" or something like that. We just need to stay put and let the others rise to our position. Even with that, the only two airlines to beat our costs are AK and JB.

Just a perspective...the Flying public are pretty well trained for fees and the cattle call... Plus so many people consider air travel essential...the challenge for SWA is increasing our fees (read bags)...
