Call me stupid, but I'm still not sure how you save engine cycles by taxi on one engine...

Don't worry I'm with ya. I thought the same thing. You still have to start the thing..right or is that how SWA does so well?...they only need one engine?:)

There are no tumbleweeds in PIT.....or much of anything else these days

There was a big "pool" in the south side of the ramp two weeks ago when I was there last. ATC said the Tiki bar was coming on Wednesday.

PHL is the SH!THOLE of the Northeast! I really hate that place!

We waited in line for 1:15 to takeoff at PHL last week. Total cluster. If there's anyplace that's going to make us do single engine taxi procedures, it's certainly PHL.

Geez, how did I let this one go for so long?

I thought we already settled this . . . .

The reason SWA has both of them turning when taxiing out is that they are trying to be the first to get to Mr. C's.

I'll give SWA credit for being ready and not having to wait for weights like many of the rest of us. We pushed back in SAT today with the departure runway (3) right behind us (turn 180 degrees and your at the hold short line). As we were completing the push, I saw SWA start pushing about 100 yards away. Naturally, the first thought in my head is making sure they don't beat us out to the runway. Shouldn't have been a problem, but our weights did not come right away. When we got them and did the 180 degree turn, SWA was airborne. If our weights had showed up during the push, we would have been out first. Unfortunately, we and others are stuck with a system that sometimes acts like a pair of handcuffs.

I don't get it. Am I missing something?

If you are a SWA dude, and you don't know about Mr. C's. then you are definitely missing something. . . here's a hint:

C-h-i-c-a-g-o!

It must be some place to eat. Probably on the other side of the terminal where I haven't parked yet. Nor have I heard any crew members talk about this place.

So I guess the grown-up answer would have been to inform me of what you were talking about. Ask a honest question and get that kind of response.

I shouldn't have expected more from Ty I suppose.

Maybe some grown-up could answer this question for me. What is Mr. C's?

It's on 63rd Street, like a block east of Cicero. Past Anthony's (which is good eats BTW). Hole in the wall joint, which has been known to have some good times. Can't swing a dead cat in there without hitting an airline employee.

The bar near all the crashpads in MDW. Haven't been there myself, but I've heard good things...

Thanks Bubba. There are few bars the SWA folks frequent that I hear bad things about. ;)

I feel like I missed out!!

I love the joints that swing dead cats!! :D :D

Mr. C's is ok just bring your Smoke Googles and your own "entertainment".

I believe that Movie quote would be from Happy Gilmore.
"You eat sh1t for breakfast?"

ESADMF!

Once again the cowardly Ty Webb slings out insults while hiding behind a mask.

Everytime you look in the mirror do you pause and say " Why am I such an a$$?"

Do it a few times. You might see something and others around you might learn to respect you.

Although I doubt you can see what I am talking about. Most like you can't.

Well, well, well. Ty has been kicked off for a while. FINALLY.

Long overdue.

Hope you get to spend a long time in the penalty box.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D
