For more info do a search, because this has been addressed, but here is the quick and dirty: We are paid in "trips" or "trips for pay" TFPs.
New hire pay is: 37.65 per trip(42.90 per hour) 12 year Captain pay is 142.44 per trip (162.28 per hour)
Guarantee: In general you get paid for what you do - there is no "bank". Reserve guarantee has been around 90 TFPs, but I do not think this is contractual.
Overtime: through a system of open time and trip trading. Availablitiy depends on your senority, but I am 10 from the bottom in domicile and can usually pick up what I want. For newhires any "extra" flying pays at second year rates 63.53 per trip (72.38 per hour) so the motivation is there. You can volunteer junior available (VJA) or if you get JA'd it pays 1.5
Days off: about 15 per month on reserve and the worse lines with no extra flying, gets better with senority.
rsv: 2 hour callout, pays 6 TFP per day or actual TFP flown whichever is greater.
rigs: check the link to the contract - our schedule is pretty productive and I am paid actual trips flown most of the time.
profitsharing: only get it for complete years with the company so not a player for a new hire - depends on what the profit is and is given as a percentage of annual pay.
etc: 401 K company matches up to 7.3 % of your pay. Good benefits, great job security, great people to work with.
Like any other contract this will change so IMHO you must look at your long term prospects when considering an airline for employment (assuming you end up with choices). The contract today is not nearly as important as it is when you are a Captain. I am too young at this airline and too dumb to have a worthwhile fact based opinion for you - I just think the long term prospects at SWA are the best in the entire industry - I could be wrong ... and any airline is just one bad manegment team away from chapter 11.
