I am going to get the type at HPA and will finance the project with a low interest credit card. Will SWA look at this negatively? Or just resourceful and using the means that I have available?

Short answer is no

As long as your credit rating remains fine when they do the background check, they won't care. You won't be the first person to have done it this way either. Good choice at HPA & a wise decision IMHO. Good luck,

Thanks Chase I knew I could count on you I was not sure how they would view high credit card debt.

How are you doing that by the way? I'm going to HPA next month too, and I was under the impression that they did not do anything with credit cards? Are you taking a cash advance against your card or something?

Thanks for the info-

Credit card

They will accept a credit card via pay pal (as does flightinfo.com for donations!!!!!) for the deposit of $1500.00 The remaining balance is due on the first day of class with a check. You can use a credit card check for this (at least that's what Bobbi Northcut at HPA told me). Those are the checks the credit card companies are always sending you with your monthly statements.

Another option which I used is to go to your local bank and ask them for a signature loan. This will only work if you have excellent credit and a good relationship with your bank. I borrowed about $6000 on a signature note for my type just so I didn't have to drain a rainy day fund and financed it over 12 months. It works out to be a little over $500 a month and I get to keep my cash just in case. Over as short a term as 12 months is, the interest rate is almost a non issue, but I think mine is about 6% Good luck on your type and I know you will have a great experience at HPA.

Tell Mark and Joe the Pirate class said hello. They will know exactly what you are talking about.

F’edbyDal,

I received the funds like knelson said w/ the checks that the credit card company sends out. The interest is set at 7.9% not too bad for a CC. With the special rates you have to be real careful because some companies will have lots of hidden fees. A great place to search for a CC with a low rate and fees is www.clarkhoward.com. That guy is awesome.

Thanks for the responses guys, I guess there are a few different ways to do it. It looks like I'm going to just use a home equity line, along with a few green backs that I received from the WIA.

Regards-

That's funny, I kinda wanted to do it in stealth mode but apparantly it changes previous posts also.

Apparantly, their were assumptions that were made about me because of my user name... I thought user names were supposed to be unique and funny, guess not.

Didn't want to be type cast as the pissed off furloughed guy, not really the case.

To answer your question, I email the moderator and asked if I could change my user name.

Peace out-
