Just wondering how old is this tradition? I was hired in 14 years ago and there was no such tradition. Don't start complaining about guys not carrying on a tradition that didn't even exist for the first 25 - 30 years existence of SWA.

It is about having a little fun...You obviously don't get that. So if it was not going on when you were hired it is not a tradition....so how does a tradition start..please let me know

So if it wasn't going on when YOU were hired then it can't go on at all? GMAFB! Maybe we should roll everything back to 1994; pay, schedules, domiciles, procedures, etc. Just the way it was when YOU were hired.

The cane is still being used. I saw one of the old guys using it the other day in Phoenix. I guess he was to cheap to buy his own.

But it wasn't the 60+ guys that refused to do it. It was discontinued sometime in late 2007. Someone got offended from what I heard at the training center.

I was in the last 07 class, which was in October. We simply had nobody to give it to. Tradition or not, this is something passed from class to class, not from the company to the class. Nobody was offended, simple as that.

CVR104 in the June 25 Class BITCHES!!!!!

I got called late last night for the June 25 class!! I am a July 19 poolie. I was told interviews to start in July and 3 classes in July with continued classes for the rest of the year. Congrats to all and I will see you in DAL on the 25th!!!!!!
