Does anyone know what SWA's policy is if they call you for a class and you are not able to make that one, but are available for the next one? Can you ask to slip a class or do you go to the bottom of the pool (and hold your breath for a while)? I would never have thought there would be a situation that would make me ask this question but I made plans based on the original forecast of a class date (and even left some slop) but things have moved up so far that it may impact me by a week or two. No speculation please, I just need the straight skinny.

You can bypass a class and they will put you in the next one. I HIGHLY discourage that though. You will lose 20+ seniority numbers. That can be dramatic when you think down the road at upgrades ect. And... what if something happens and they quit running classes. You could lose out on much more than just a few numbers.

You could actually lose more than 20 depending on your age and where you fall in the class.

Thanks Roughneck. Trust me, I DO NOT want to bypass anything, but I may not have a choice. We'll just have to see where the chips fall.

Don't do it... Tell Uncle Sam to take a hike!

If it was Uncle Sam, it would be much easier. Unfortunately it's not. On the bright side, it looks like my class date may be a week or too later than my worst case scenario so I think everything is going to work out great. It helped me get a much better nights sleep knowing that I could slip it if I absolutely had to.

Thanks guys
