SWA May/June training classes

For all the type-A control freaks who are ready for some LUV,

I got the call from KU today for a May 31st training date. I interviewed on 2/15 and did the type at HIGHER POWER AVIATION (I include this for you guys who can't get a handle on what it takes to get an interview when you get the qualifications) in December 05.

Good luck to all! (especially those who won't take no for an answer). As a personal aside: People on this site will razz SWA, but I believe we've got a real opportunity to be part of a company where you can work hard, be positive, and be a make some great airline history. Some may preach that buying a type is selling out, but I believe once you learn about the company (this is where Higher Power Aviation comes in) you'll realize it's worth the gamble.

Vance, Congrats on the class date, looks like we will be in the same class. Typed last June, interviewed in Jan. Can't wait to be on the team!!!

Congrats and thanks for the update. I'm waiting for a training date as well, hopefully in July.

I agree getting the type is well worth the gamble, for anyone contemplating SWA who is close to the mins. For what its worth: I got my type rating at Flight Training International (FTI) in Denver. Great people, great experience. Very personal instruction, very laid back. I paid for the -300/EFIS training and thought it was well worth it, still cheaper than HPA i think.

You know... the wait for the interview was tough, waiting for the DB results was tough, and so was waiting for a class date. Not once did it cross my mind during that time about classes behind me. Seeing y'all get the May 31st class makes it all the more real. I'll be in class on the 17th (Feb 7 interview) waiting for y'all. Congratulations again!

Couldn't agree more. Haven't even started yet and us May 10th guys/gals already potentially have 40 people Jr. to us. Absolutley amazing. Can't wait to get there!!!
