Just a little update on the Mar 1 2004 class. 23 guys and 1 gal and also 2 additional guys are there to be sim instructors. Seems to be a slight majority of ex-military. The average age is 37.8 years old. Ages ranged from 50's to 31. Everyone is very happy to be here. Mgt. was'nt fessing up to where the next base would be but it's going to be one of three: TPA,LAS,BNA in the beginning of 05. Also trng is beefed up for 24 @ 2 classes per month for the next 6 months. Speculation is 400 this year. We're collecting the $ for the Mar 15 class party so I hope you guys/gals are ready. See ya'll next week!

Jimbo,

Thanks for the update and the stats. It's nice to get any kind of new info...yours is greatly appreciated! I also look forward to reading posts from the March interviewees and upcoming new hires.

Thanks again bud and good luck with your training!

Thanks for the post. When you get a chance later this week, could you post a list of things you might have done differently or prepared differently. I should be in the May class so I have time to change my tack. Best of luck and I can't wait to be there. The other thing, I don't know if someone has posted the program but how long is the classroom? the Sim? IOE? Any info please let us know. Thanks in advance!:D

Hey Jimbo, thanks for the update. I'm sure now that you guys are into day three the real work begins. Just one question, did you guys get ID's issued at the end of day two. According to my schedule for the March 15th class schedule, the plan is for ID's to be issued at that time.
Good luck to all of you and the March 15th gang will see you on the 14th at the party!

Bring your drinking boots..

Hey Folks,
IDs were issued on day two. As far as the training schedule, it is as follows:
1. Ground training = approx 4 weeks
2. CPTs = 3 x 3 hour sessions
3. Sims = 4 x 4 hour sessions
4. Sim Check
5. LOFT
6. IOE
In that order. The cpts, sims, sim check, and loft shouldn't take more than 1.5 to 2 weeks after ground school. IOE is 25 hours, so you can probably finish that in one trip. You're also required to accomplish 4 observation legs before your first sim on your own time.

Only one gal out of 26 in the class?

re:

IOE takes approx. 2 weeks, then you get a hard line for one month at the base of your choice. After that, you are at the mercy of seniority (OAK). But, it only gets better after that.

If you cannot bring drinking boots, then bring an extra liver. You are about to find out about a little deal called "1-2-3." ;)
