Can some Southwest guys help out a CAL guy on jumpseating with you.

I understand that the TSA will now require a boarding or "gate pass" if I'm going through the SWA security/terminal area, if it's not part of CAL's gates, which is the case.

Will the TSA let me through to the SWA gates without a Southwest jumpseat and/or standby boarding pass? (with just my CAL I.D.?)

If not, can I call somewhere or list online, and then print out the pass on the internet or at a Kiosk?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know about the TSA rules. I've not been denied entry into a terminal with ID only. If you get any flack, go to the ticket counter and get a security document. If you want, call SWA nonrev and they'll be happy to list you. You can then get a security doc at the kiosk or ticket counter. I don't think as a "non-employee" you can print you security docs at home.

Hope it helps.

I printed out a SWA non-rev jumpseat security form at home a few weeks ago. I was able to print it just a few minutes after listing by phone. The printout should allow you to get through security and not have to bother anyone at the ticket counter. Where I commute from, TSA is a pain in the butt since I don't work for a carrier "that operates from that airport." They had no problem with what I printed at home on that particular day.

So you called the SWA nonrev line and listed standby, then printed it out at home? Did it have you marked as a "selectee" for additional screening/harrassment?

Just tried it. NO CAN DO. The SWA website says that only ticketless travel is allowed to be printed online. Maybe you have to be a SWA employee?

After you list and receive your confirmation code, go to SWA site. Under Travel section there is an option to print security document. You can print a pass to get to the gate. If it gives you the unable to print, it means you were selected for additional screening and you have to go to the ticket counter to get a security pass. It works for me about 75% of the time without having to go to the ticket counter. If you list and aren't at home the same works for kiosk. I'm not a WN employee either and my airline doesn't serve my commute city, but process is pretty painless. I try and list at least 24 hours prior and it seems to reduce the SSSS tag.
Good luck and Thanks to SWA for all of my commutes.

List yourself. Go to the airport. Use your credit card at a check in kiosk and it will recognize your listing. Print your pass and you're done. Southwest make it so easy.
I should maybe mention that it does not charge you for anything, it's just to get your listing information. Works great.

I have a question about Continental. Do you have a lot of airlines that you accept for International jumpseating ? I have been trying to get my jumpseating coordinator to negociate with you. He says that Continental is not interested. I suspect he just doesn't want to be bothered.
