I heard from LL today. She mentioned that she just got an E-mail, stating that the January 20th class has been postponed. Two classes were still on the calendar for February. She mentioned though that things could change at any time.
Newsline for Tuesday, December 3, 2002 Posted on Wed, 12/04/02 09:24
Good Afternoon. This is the Flight Operations Newsline for Tuesday, December 3, 2002. Only 21 more shopping days till Christmas.
Many of you have called to ask about Pilot hiring for 2003. We do have a Pilot Newhire class scheduled to begin January 6, 2003. Joe Mayers and Greg Crum have reviewed our manning requirements for the first quarter of 2003. It has become apparent that we will not need the Jan 20 class and, consequently, it is canceled/postponed. At the present time, we do plan on two classes of 20 in February 2003 with tentative dates of Feb 3 and 17.
Got a call from LL yesterday. She confirmed the January class, two February classes and that I'm five classes away. She also said that she expects to see me in class soon.
Today was my fini flight. It was a great day to fly a pilot pro in my favorite airplane. I'm not counting, but it'll be 21 years, 4 months, and 18 days of active duty and 6,192.4 hours. It's been great being an aviator and not having to work for a living for this long. I hope it'll be the same at SWA, provided I don't get caught in a Stop Loss again.
Take care and Happy Holidays to all, particularly to all my fellow aviators displaced in these turbulent times.
Good job on the 21+ years in the USAF (I assume?)..... For what it's worth... spoke w/ a buddy of mine who did 22+ in the US Army, went to school @ SWA last March '01 and is L O V I N G every DAY of it!!!!!
What does it feel like getting the only real job in this business? I don't think I will ever know the feeling!I'm a 30 yr old 8000 hr Dash-8 capt, jr in college ,DUMBSH7T.
Lighten up Bro!
Just keep pluggin, get that degree, get that type and you'll be tredding too! I'll be closer to 36 than 35 when I get on property, you'll probably get there younger than I will!
How's 60 training going? I've been in WY for a couple of weeks now. Almost done with training. This is an unbelieveable lifestyle.
If you can believe this, I volunteered to fly with the ECs out of PA for 90 days. This will cover my bills for the year and I will use the rest of my AFTPs and UTAs for fun.
Have you heard any news or forecasts on interviews at LUV? I still have your tape. I'll make sure you get it back.
