I've personally seen instances where they invite for the interview without you applying. Both cases I'm aware of were line pilots pulling strings for friends. Last time I heard it happened was around 2000.

No I wish I did, turned out to be a mistake. Not that I was suprised, just dissapointed. Good luck to all.
