Can't believe the call came today for an interview on the 16th of December. Just returned from an Atlanta turn and my daughter calls me screaming. Dad, Dad Swa called !!@#$%^&. I had to tell her to calm down and let me listen to the answering machine. Yup, no joke from anyone of my friends. It was real:). Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Which hotel to stay in, what previous interviewees have taken and been asked for. Thank you.

ATP160,
Congrats on your interview and good luck! SWA has been better than everyone said it would be! I'll give you my 2 cents worth, but I really recommend you do a search on flightinfo for advice from "Chase". He's the man when it comes to info about SWA.
Hotels--Definitely the Dallas Renaissance--very nice hotel and the major stay for almost all SWA employees. When you make a reservation, ask for the SWA rate (i think now $52 a night). You might have to show them your interview letter to get the rate. Lots of pilots/interviewees gather in the bar for drinks/eats the night before. You can make some good contacts there and get some good advice. You might even meet some of your interviewers. They have a free shuttle to the SWA HQ. If you can't get into the Renaissance. There's a Laquinta on Regal Row that is about 3 minutes from the SWA HQ. The SWA paperwork they send you will also have a list of hotels.
Paperwork--They'll send you a bunch of paperworks. I recommend you make copies of everything--including your license, medical, drivers license. It really helps when the SWA PD doesn't have to make copies for you.
Interview prep--I recommend professional help there. I used Judy Tarver (I met her at Higher Power). If you want her number, just e-mail me. I've heard AlbieF15 on this board does a great job also. Have your stories and thoughts kind of prepared. Then the professionals can help with hints on how to present them better.
Lastly, and you'll hear this a lot. Relax and be yourself. Enjoy the process--SWA folks will do everything they can to help you. I gurantee you will laugh a lot during the day! Good Luck!

Bring a few cases of cold beer and a wad of 20's, you know, to help things along.

Hey, it worked for me!

Congrats!

SWA interview

Congrats on the call,

Be your self, smile and look'em in the eye. Make sure the fish you catch in your stories is the same size with each interviewer. That should make you credible and they are looking for that as well as your flying skills.

ATP160,

First of all congrats...I'm sure you'll do well. ScudB is very kind but there many who have posted before about SWA & continue to do so. The names mentioned for interview prep are great folks to include Craig Thornton also....however, interview prep with a "professional" isn't required or necessarily encouraged by Southwest. The best advice you've received so far about being yourself will be the matra these folks will preach but there is no doubt they provide a great resource of info and experience on helping you through the process. You'll have to be the judge....good luck in your quest.

p.s. hey ScudB, I'll pay you that money I owe you!!!!

Thanks Chase,

I spoke to Mark Sterns last week and mentioned your great posts. He says your a super guy. Thanks again.
