Okay guys,

I am starting to go NUTS here waiting and wondering when the phone is going to ring with SWA on the line. With that said, I am curious if anyone out there (Chase?) might have some info regarding the number of applicants interviewed so far since March and a break down of how many had types VS non types. I ask this because if they are interviewing mostly typed folks then I would assume that SWA is starting to run out of typed folks to interview. A recent post suggested there were about 1000 typed applicants. With that number in mind I would think that there was only about 3-4 hundred typed pilots remaining to interview. I realize that there are people out there who are just now meeting the minimum qualifications and filling out the online application but I would still think that the number of apps with types is starting to dwindle (which means that SWA may actually even consider me for employment).

Any thoughts?
Johnny

Johnny,

Trust me, I feel your pain!

Typed: May '02
Original App: Feb '03
Re-app: Jan '04
TT: just about to top 5000
PIC Turbine: just about to top 2000

And guess what? It all means doodly until it's gotten me an interview with the only airline I've ever wanted to spend 25+ years working for. I'll wait as long as it takes. I know I'll get my shot soon!

Here's to ya, brother! As I said, I feel your pain!

Hang in there!

Check your app

Go back and check your online app. A lot of people are leaving the Aircraft flown and Job history portions blank or incomplete. That can slow down your getting called.

BTW, I heard the number with 737 type rating is closer to 2000.

One more w/ a type and no call...but I just put my app in a week or two ago. I think SWAIT is right about the number of typed people. Good luck

Hang in there...

Original app: 12/01
Updated app: 02/04
Typed: 06/02
TT:10,000+
Turbine PIC: 5000+

6 LOR's from Line Captains, can overkill to 10+

Keep a positive attitude, get you background stuff in order, live your life and the call will come hopefully sooner than later.

Heh...every month that goes by where I don't get a call, I do just that. Of course, they're all filled in every time I look.

Still, a good tip!
