Hi all,
I have a truly innocent question that I have heard. Is it possible for someone to "Blacklist" you or something of that nature to prevent you from getting hired? I was told that SWA posts the list of each potential new hire in its domiciles, and if any one wants to make a comment about a person they can? Can this actually prevent you from getting hired? Thanks for any insight.

That list can go either way. Someone can see your name there and add some positive remarks to your file.

Also, from what I've gathered from within, if you have 20 positive recommendations and 1 negative, that would say a lot in your favor.

Now that I've got 28 hours in the 737, you bet I'll be reading it! :)

You've arrived dude, you can quit counting now!!!

The feedback is from people that have worked with you. Being on strike would have nothing to do with it.

So, it seems if I interpret the responses from SWA/FO & BHS correctly is that the list does exist hmmmm........Interesting to say the least!

Lots of airlines do this...no big surprise.

I totally agreed with that statement...

Right up to the time I was reconstructing my logbook on a deadhead on a 777 on my way to my "exit interview."

:-)

Prior to interview, the company puts up a list of all the folks who will be going in the next month or so. That is specifically to get feedback on them, 90% of the time, good news for the individual. I recently saw the name of a guy I was in Air Force Pilot training with, hadn't seen him in a long while, and didn't know he was pursuing SWA. I immediately filled out the online recommendation form on his behalf because he was a great guy. I have yet to find the name of a guy/gal I wouldn't want to work here, but if I did, I would be just as quick to slam them, because we don't want malcontents, or just plain bad folks, working here who have hosed over others many times in their former lives. But unless you were a total A$$, and hated by many folks, odds are you shouldn't even worry about it in the least. And like another said, if you have lots of pro letters, don't worry about someone here who is the only guy writing a con recommendation on you.
If you had the opportunity, wouldn't you like to help pick who works with you and ensure the unquestionable losers don't?
