Those routes aren't the bulk of SWAs business. I haven't even gotten there yet but the research I have done dictates those routes are a bit outside the business model. Except FLL-MCO

I'm pretty sure long flights like x-country isn't their prime business but if since they are coast to coast you can probably find a fare to anywhere with connections.

I could probably pick out many flights like FLL-MCO and you wouldn't find anyone near SWA.

Picking out of a hat maybe but you have to understand SWAs targets to understand their reason for continued profits.

With that being said, look at the walk up fares. We are consistently 50% or more less expensive than the legacies. Thats the bread and butter of all the airlines.

Price out a one way from FLL to PHX and let us know where we are in that mix. (I'm too lazy)

Its not about one fare. Its the range of fares in any given market.

Ok. I'm not as lazy as I think I am. But not far off.

American tomorrow.....594 bucks one way.

Southwest tomorrow....299 bucks one way.

Cool, didn't know that.

What are SWA's 10 most competitive routes? would like to check prices.

I realize it is more expensive (slightly) to take SWA than Greyhound.
My original post was purely sarcastic........A joke. Maybe sometimes the truth just isn't that funny!

Bud,

One thing you're right about - apparently sometimes the truth isn't that funny. Obviously (apparently not) I was being sarcastic about comparing the "hourly rate" of the tickets.

One thing you're wrong about - it IS cheaper to fly SWA than Greyhound. See my fare quote above.

The smiley face is usually a sign of sarcasm :-)

Fate.

My bad.......I thought maybe you were just really sensitive.

It was just pointed out to me what the heck that crazy punctuation was at the end of you statement. Okay......duely noted.

Sometimes............I just feel stupid.
