After 2.5 years of negotiations, we (SWA and TWU 550) have reached a tentative agreement. No details as of yet, but am extremely happy to have reached this point.

Rumor was going around in my office a few weeks ago they would get Captains pay. Dont hold much hope for that but if true that would great for the rest of the dispatchers in the industry.

While that would be nice, it would require somewhere upwards of a 70% increase. To get us up to FO pay would require <60% raise. It's been 14 years since the last dispatch contract so the pilots have had multiple contracts to get up there.

Congrats to TWU, Mike C. and all your negotiating team. Two and half years at the table going back and forth, there had to have been sand kicked on a few boots, LOL. Gary knew he had a nesscary spoke in the wheel that need restoration after 14years.

Either way, cheers to a well deserved contract & compensation package.

Regards.......8 sierra mike

Any update from the airtran side of things? Just curious how they are involved in this, or if anything

The AT dispatchers (TWU 540) are still operating under their contract. When and how the 540 crew will morph into 550 (SWA) will be determined by the transition agreement. That document isn't finalized as far as I know.

Until they each move to the SWA side of things they will continue as they have. Once they change over then they will get the benefits of our contract.

Can any of you discuss the gains made?

The T/A just voted-in is 144 pages, but I'll just focus on the compensation... Work schedule remains 6-3-6-3-6-6. Below are base rate figures per month; multiple by 12 for annual rates, and divide that annual rate by 1,912.5 for the hourly base rate. Longevity premium (mentioned further down) will be added to this base rate per hour figure, and be considered in overtime calculations. OT rate is 1.5x for the first day, and 2.0x for subsequent days of one's break.

2. Premiums

a) A monthly Proficiency Premium of $75 will be paid to all active Dispatchers.
b) Dispatchers, who have eleven (11) years of completed service with the Company, will be paid a

Longevity Premium. Such premium will be calculated by multiplying $0.26 times the Dispatcher'syears of service with the Company (to a maximum of twenty [20] years). Such premium will be paid in addition to any other pay to which the Employee is entitled, and will be included in the computation of overtime. [This starts at 11 years of service at $2.86 per hour, and increases .26 per year, up to 20 years and greater, which is $5.20 per hour. Add this figure to the base rate per hour and you get a total rate per hour.]

c) All other premiums are paid on a ratio between 0-15 completed years of service and reach their maximum rates at fifteen (15) years based on the rates below: 1)Dispatchers Certificate $345 per month

2) A Productivity Bonus will be paid to Dispatchers yearly to reward them for their personal productivity performance as measured in total hours worked (regular & premium) in calendar years 2013, 2014 & 2015. If an Employee achieves 1,622 hours actually worked (regular & premium time) in a fiscal annual year beginning July 1, 2012 June 30, 2013 they will receive up to a 2% bonus (based on step ratio above).

(a) The Productivity Bonus will be paid on September 5th and is based on a Dispatchers compensation (401(k) eligible wages) for the prior year if eligible(attained 1,622 hours actually worked).
