For anyone in the know. Are SWA trips out of OAK and PHX commutable? Are they mostly 3 on 4 off, or vice versa. Also how easy is it to drop your first leg and lets say, pick it up at out of LAX, or BUR? Would apreciate the feedback. Thanks.

Depends on where you commute to/from. I commute out of ONT. I bounce back and forth between PHX or OAK bases. I have gone as long as year without a hotel in domicile. Recently, the late night sched has changed some and getting home has not been as easy. That said I usually can manipulate my sched to where I only need maybe one hotel a month. Although I am willing to give up more pay than most to get home the same day. I give away quit a bit of flying. Commutes to more Northern cities, BOI, SEA, PDX, seem to be a bit more of a challenge than Southern cities. LAX,SAN,ONT.

I fly 3 on 4 off. Tues, Wed, Thurs. I am a pretty senior f/o so I almost always get my first or second choice.

You will not be able to commute alot of the reserve lines same day in many cases. Until you get some seniority, expect a 4 on 3 off reserve schedule out of Oakland.
