I'm afraid that Haiku style of poetry is like the Emporer's clothes. We are supposed to ooh and aahhh but there is nothing of substance. What about good old iambic pentameter?
Or a limmerick?
There once was a poolie called Slug
Who sank in the pool with a glug
Then up he came gasping
To class he went marching
And gave poor old Lindsey a hug
You are all great - wish I could write like that..... hang in there every one - at least you will soon have Pool Rat wear in time for the holidays - the towels will still be handy WHEN we have a chance to dry off!!!!
Happy Holidays - enjoying the Poetry SLam - Tred
Oh what the heck...
There once was a Pool Rat named Tred
He had a t-shirt design in his head
Put it out in a thread
So many orders he dreads
But soon we'll be shown' our threads!
UcK! That was awful - oh well - still having fun!!!?
Either way the ball bounces, I'm buying a ticket on SWA to see a UGA bowl game. I prefer the $299 each way fare to Phoenix, but a trip to the Big Easy won't be bad. And, if we lose to Arkansas, well, I still plan to fly south to Orlando for a rematch of the 1982 Sugar Bowl. Slug, maybe then I can open up that "SEC vs Penn State & Friends" flame war.
Either way, I fully intend to put my cash into SWA coffers and help fund a poolie to Dalllas.
PilotDawg..it's all good.
Yahtz
P.S. I like your Christmas list, but you forgot to add an SWA interview for me.
A little over 4000 folks at SWA that think and write just like you guys do..
This place just kills me..But I never knew just how talented the poolies really are..
Maybe we should start our own rag..What should we call it..?
Super soakers?
Pool Rats?
The Water Log?
Anyway..
Great to see some humor in the pool for a change..
I'm glad to be leaving the pool in January. You guys must be waterlogged. You're starting to scare me. No, NO, YOU DID scare me with all this Haiku Karate Chop crap. PLease stop. \
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Soupbone (poolie # 10) get the call for Jan 6? If so, you would think #'s 8 and 9 would have also. This thing is like my checkbook, I can't figure it out even though we are dealing with small numbers.
