Dorky but sage advice from Master Yoda,

"Anger, fear, aggression; the dark side of the Force are they. Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight. If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will, as it did Obi-Wan's apprentice."

Yeah, its GUP.... go fly a trip!

"Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering."

“A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never for attack.”

Some time in the future, we can just go back to shooting road signs, and hitting mail boxes with baseball bats. Or making fun of insert joke of the day here.

No...you have been downgraded to general....OY6 suxs.

Fear arbitration? That's funny. The stack is completely stacked for AAI gains. I say bring it. No fear what so ever.

OYS, take care of your own house...I mean RJ's.

Southwest pilots mainly fear one thing, arbitration. (AKA Fairness)

Why would we fear arbitration? ALPA pilots don't believe in it. They just de certify their union and jump ship if they don't get what they want.

High oil is doing that for us now. RJs aren't profitable above 50 bucks a barrel probably for 50 seaters, and it really doesn't look good above 100.

And many of your guys do fear arbitration, because someone other than SWAPA will be deciding the list. Someone neutral, who knows how to value what Airtran brings to your merger. Many of your guys can't see anything they bring as valuable. I am glad you are at peace with the issue, and don't fear it. Good for you, and may the Force be with you, Always.

That only occurred at one airline, not any of the others. But, you will fear it because of the award by that particular arbitrator in that case, and each arbitration after it. They weren't all the same, but most of the lists had some sort of relative seniority blended in. You guys only believe in a staple or close, so your ensuing meltdown after you eventually see your own SLI will be amusing to many.

I sure would like his schedule. Sounds like he has a lot of fun. Someday I hope to have the same, and with retirements coming at a fast pace eventually, it's likely I will.

thank you george nicolau what would we do without your insight. does it hurt u that much that u don't work fo us or that we didn't buy u?

You will have enough trouble with your Airtran merger, so quit thinking about going even bigger. You must be really junior at SWA. You seem nervous.

OYS

Why again are you on all the Southwest threads?

Why are you following me? Are you a stalker? It is my duty to correct certain attitudes on this board, and it usually occurs on these threads. Get along nicely with the Airtran guys, and I will post fewer posts on this subject.

not nervous i just honestly cannot believe delta hired such a tool. i'll have to ask my friends at dal (yes-believe it or not i have many there, nwa as well) who oys is and why he hates swa so much. here's hoping your mancrush on everything swa eventually wanes and sets u free

I don't hate SWA, I just hate cocky people who treat others that will be in their own company poorly. That makes most people mad. Take it down a level and take a deep breath. It will all be over, soon.

OYS was one of those kids who would call you names from the safety of his front porch!
Two theories about why OYS has a problem with SWA:
1. Got a type and didn't make the cut after furlough from UAL.
2. Turned down SWA for UAL and got another interview, whereby he didn't make the cut the second time around...like all the other furloughed UAL pilots who were first offered positions here but turned them down for greener pastures!
I sure would like his schedule. Sounds like he has a lot of fun. Someday I hope to have the same, and with retirements coming at a fast pace eventually, it's likely I will.
OYS, I bet you said the same thing when you started at the UAL...didn't you?

Nope, never wanted to fly a 737 forever. That sounds painful, even at your payrates. Well, at least you can upgrade to Captain on the 717, after the Airtran guys do first.

OYS,

It will all turn out fine in the end. Thanks for your unwaivering concern.

I love how you and the General like to talk about how Southwest road on the coat tails of the DL contract and that you guys will be 'taking it back' and how the RJ's are going away. You know the proof is in the history. DL with NINE fleet types is starting to feel those synergies fully.

The Delta RJ number is close to 1000 airframes, compared to 0 at SW. You have along way to go to put that genie back in the bottle. How many DL pilots weren't hired over all those years of adding RJ's? The number would have to be staggering.

You're welcome. And, both DL and SWA rode on UAL's coat tails first. Get that straight, please. And the RJs really are going away. Have you read about Comair being shrunk to only 49 total planes? Delta still owns Comair, you know. ASA had to put some planes at UAL, and Mesa dumped E145s for Delta, along with E135s at CHQ, and even Expressjet had E145s flying for Delta out of LAX, which are now gone. Higher oil will expedite the rest of the 50 seaters.

As far as how many DL pilots weren't hired at DL because of RJs? I bet a lot. But with them going away and other natural retirements coming, DL will be hiring a lot. A lot more than SWA will be hiring, and that is a fact. See ya.

OYS

That is a classic spin just like the General.

Good luck with that. Haha

Where is the spin? DL is parking RJs. I gave you many examples. High oil will make the remaining RJs less desireable. If you don't want to believe me or what the General states, that is your right. But, that doesn't change the facts. And Delta will have a lot more scheduled retirements than Southwest. Again, facts, not spin.

Just got the 411. Boo hoo hoo. SWA wouldn't hire you! Guess the people department really messed that one up, eh?

don't hate SWA, I just hate cocky people who treat others that will be in their own company poorly.

Brother, I didn't start this $hit $torm, but I'm enjoying ending it.

Regarding Airtran. It is what it is and I am quite comfortable that it will work out wonderfully for all. Except for Delta. Which will be the funniest part of all this.

Quite frankly I'm having a real hard time believing you got hired there. You certainly are an extremely poor representation of any of the ones I know.

My life compared to you really sucks. I don't get wear a hat or a double breasted monkey suit. I don't even have 50 posts compared to your 3200 plus. I need to spend more time here on my 20 days off. But then that would take me away from my A36, my wife, my girlfriend, their bolt-ons and the 60 foot with the Cummins.

I'd love to keep setting you straight but I gotta go. I hear the blender running, the fish are biting and I still have to bid (we don't have PBS-another thing proving that we suck as a legacy).

See you soon in ATL. Like Gen Billy Sherman, you will know we're there!
