I don't hate SWA, I just hate cocky people who treat others that will be in their own company poorly. That makes most people mad. Take it down a level and take a deep breath. It will all be over, soon.

OYS

OYS was one of those kids who would call you names from the safety of his front porch!
Two theories about why OYS has a problem with SWA:
1. Got a type and didn't make the cut after furlough from UAL.
2. Turned down SWA for UAL and got another interview, whereby he didn't make the cut the second time around...like all the other furloughed UAL pilots who were first offered positions here but turned them down for greener pastures!
I sure would like his schedule. Sounds like he has a lot of fun. Someday I hope to have the same, and with retirements coming at a fast pace eventually, it's likely I will.
OYS, I bet you said the same thing when you started at the UAL...didn't you?

Nope, never wanted to fly a 737 forever. That sounds painful, even at your payrates. Well, at least you can upgrade to Captain on the 717, after the Airtran guys do first.

OYS,

It will all turn out fine in the end. Thanks for your unwaivering concern.

I love how you and the General like to talk about how Southwest road on the coat tails of the DL contract and that you guys will be 'taking it back' and how the RJ's are going away. You know the proof is in the history. DL with NINE fleet types is starting to feel those synergies fully.

The Delta RJ number is close to 1000 airframes, compared to 0 at SW. You have along way to go to put that genie back in the bottle. How many DL pilots weren't hired over all those years of adding RJ's? The number would have to be staggering.

You're welcome. And, both DL and SWA rode on UAL's coat tails first. Get that straight, please. And the RJs really are going away. Have you read about Comair being shrunk to only 49 total planes? Delta still owns Comair, you know. ASA had to put some planes at UAL, and Mesa dumped E145s for Delta, along with E135s at CHQ, and even Expressjet had E145s flying for Delta out of LAX, which are now gone. Higher oil will expedite the rest of the 50 seaters.

As far as how many DL pilots weren't hired at DL because of RJs? I bet a lot. But with them going away and other natural retirements coming, DL will be hiring a lot. A lot more than SWA will be hiring, and that is a fact. See ya.

OYS

That is a classic spin just like the General.

Good luck with that. Haha

Where is the spin? DL is parking RJs. I gave you many examples. High oil will make the remaining RJs less desireable. If you don't want to believe me or what the General states, that is your right. But, that doesn't change the facts. And Delta will have a lot more scheduled retirements than Southwest. Again, facts, not spin.

Oys

Just got the 411. Boo hoo hoo. SWA wouldn't hire you! Guess the people department really messed that one up, eh?

don't hate SWA, I just hate cocky people who treat others that will be in their own company poorly.

Brother, I didn't start this $hit $torm, but I'm enjoying ending it.

Regarding Airtran. It is what it is and I am quite comfortable that it will work out wonderfully for all. Except for Delta. Which will be the funniest part of all this.

Quite frankly I'm having a real hard time believing you got hired there. You certainly are an extremely poor representation of any of the ones I know.

My life compared to you really sucks. I don't get wear a hat or a double breasted monkey suit. I don't even have 50 posts compared to your 3200 plus. I need to spend more time here on my 20 days off. But then that would take me away from my A36, my wife, my girlfriend, their bolt-ons and the 60 foot with the Cummins.

I'd love to keep setting you straight but I gotta go. I hear the blender running, the fish are biting and I still have to bid (we don't have PBS-another thing proving that we suck as a legacy).

See you soon in ATL. Like Gen Billy Sherman, you will know we're there!

Why are you following me? Are you a stalker? It is my duty to correct certain attitudes on this board, and it usually occurs on these threads.

Yes I'm following you and you better watch out because I'm stalking you as well! Your "duty" to correct attitudes on this board has just been demoted to "peon". Keep this crap up and you'll have yourself some "walking papers" from FI. Get it? Got it? Thank you!

Heh heh... funny stuff OWW. ;)

OYS, while I appreciate your support, the AAI pilots can take care of themselves, and this will all resolve itself in the next year or so, so no worries, mate.

If you think that's the kind of support you need-Or, that it will get you anywhere in negotiations or arbitration-You've got a rude awakening ahead of you.

And, oh BTW,

I'm asking people to stop ANTAGONIZING each other by posting things that deliberately provoke the other side. We're all going to continue discussing things, which is a HEALTHY thing (one of the threads had been swimming peacefully for several days of responses which was nice). No harm in that.

Real tough words (as a moderator) you just used on OYS. Hope you didn't hurt his feelings with the harsh administration of your above words. Can you say hypocrisy?

Excellent,,, yet another poster who, rather than debating the argument, attacks the poster.

I didn't say anything of the kind. You did. I simply thanked him for posting in our defense. Why do you have to stretch it into something it's not?

Can you say "agenda"? I knew you could... ;)

I don't post as a moderator in the SWA/AAI threads, haven't for months now. OYS knows that, as do most other regular posters here, and I'm sure YOU do as well, you're just choosing to ignore that fact to go on the personal attacks.

It's obvious you're one of the 1% that honestly thinks a staple is OK in this situation. That's fine. Not going to continue to debate you about that, but there's no reason to turn the attacks personal rather than simply debating your point. Remaining professional and not getting personal will go a long way towards keeping tempers and attitudes in check during this process.

YMMV. ;)

Lear 70 did you turn over a new leaf or is this the real you? Your posts seems so middle of the road and lack your emotion of old. Is your lip bleeding....?

You might be the ONLY one listening to your union, but it seems so fake. Ill have to do a search but the  at the end of your post is driving me nuts .... just saying.

heh heh... Nah, it's me. The last 3 years have been a heck of a lesson in learning what's really important in life and letting things go that I have absolutely NO control over.

I don't back down from a fight, but I don't think this *NEEDS* to be a "fight", rather just letting our MC's work it out and going out there, doing my job, taking care of our people, and having a good time. :)

Looking forward to the future, and I'm happy to buy the frosty beverages on the overnights.

(couldn't resist) :D

SWA brothers, if you really are SWA, Karma's a biatch. Remember Pan Am, Eastern, TWA, and all of the other once great airlines. They thought they would never fail, retire rich, etc. If for no other reason than that, put a sock in it. I want a fair integration as much as the next guy. If I was at Airtran I'd want it all (and hopefully not piss it away by getting too greedy). I'm at SWA so imagine what I want (rhymes with Maple). It's only natural. But acting like little girls on the play ground? Little b#$ches? It almost makes me think Airtran or someone is purposely putting crap on these boards to skew the arbitrators opinion against us. If you are SWA pilots (which I doubt), quit making the rest of us look like deuches.

Just remember the old saying: You can take the animal out of the jungle but you cannot take the jungle out of the animal.

I thought it was, you can take the person out of the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of the person....seems like that would fit a bit more.

They both work. Some people are like animals and are worst than being in the ghetto. I hope he gets the message.
