For crying out loud! For some reason I can no longer edit my previous posts.
REVISION #1
Over 100 external applicants, weeded down to X for phone interviews. Now at approx 24 for one on one interviews first 2 weeks of Dec.

ROUGHLY:

Experience: 3 years Dispatch experience: Prefered 121 carrier but not required.

Licensing/Certification: Must be a licensed Aircraft Dispatcher under Federal Guidelines.

College degree preferred but not required.

HTH,
RVSM

My friend has her interview the first week of December.

I hope they don't take her away! She's the BEST dispatcher we have! :bawling:

What's her name or where is she now so I can tell them to take her out of the stack...:D

Those that have been selected to come to DAL can look forward to having the pleasure of a one on four panel interview with the PD recruiter, Chief of Dispatch Training and Standards and two line Dispatchers, one of whom is also a line instructor.
You will also get to take about a 1 hr test that covers Dispatch 101 topics, WX, NOTAMs, FARs, Approaches (Jepp plates), etc.
Don't worry about weight and balance and don't get hung up with systems. Basic Knowledge is sufficient, not looking for B737 experts. (if you are that's great but don't burn time on it if your not.)

More to follow if I hear anything.
Good luck to all,
RVSM

But wait, there's more.

There should be 6 picked up on this go around.
Keep your resumes sharp.
PROB 80 there will be more openings early next year due to unforecasted internal growth opportunities.

Concur, and don't let the reported slowed aircraft growth rates fool you... ;)

Well? Any news?
