Swa April Interview

Recently rcvd invite to Dallas and was wondering if anyone has a reliable source for Class I physical in the Norfolk, VA area. Also, any advice for interview prep and associated things to do, not do? Will seek more advice soon but hands are still trembling w/excitement.

BTW, have been applying since OCT 02, and no I do not have the type yet. Another good question if selected, where to go for the type.

Congrats on the interview man. There is all kinds of gouge on the internet about SWA interviews. Just do some searches.

As far as the type goes...a lot of guys went to Higher Power Aviation (HPA) in DAL. 800-jetcrew

If you are going to wait until a job offer for the type then just go to wherever it is the cheapest overall. figure in housing and time away from home etc.. alot of people go to higher power because they think it is going to give them a leg up on a SWA job. I went to K&S excellent program very very professional included housing and now I understand they offer an at home ground school online very convenient. www.b737-training.com

Congrats! It's an exciting time. You've got lots to do. You didn't say when your interview is scheduled, but I'll guess that it's in the next few weeks to a month out.

As for an AME, ask around. Ask your squadron flight doc, guys in other squadrons, or even call one of the squadrons up at Langley to find one. If you're going to be in the DC area in the near future, PM me and I'll tell you where mine is located.

As for prep, Albie is highly respected in the field for interview prep. I went with Resume Writer for my resume's (both flying and non-flying and they were golden). She is great. Do a search for them on here and you'll find a wealth of info and advice.

Go to the Military Transition forum on here and read Albie's threads on getting out. Set the time period for threads to go back about a year and they are there. Great info there on what you need to be doing to get ready.

Dr. Carwell in Va Beach is a former Flt Surgeon with VR-56 and VFC-12. Simple process and no problems for me in three medicals over the past two years. There is a huge amount of gouge on the internet, on this site and others, but your best bet is to talk to buds that have gone through the process and pay for interview prep if it's been a while since you've interviewed for a job.

Thank you for the straight forward answers! I thought I previously saw threads w/Albie or Chase as good sources for interview preps but could not locate either. I thought Albie was Emerald Coast something something, but I know longer have the link. Interview is a must do as I have been in the military since high school. Will definitely call the recommended FAA Doc in VA and may PM you if you don't mind. The interview is sched for the first week in April, so I have some time to prep, get the suit, and work on deep breathing relaxation exercises !
