Does anybody remember when SWA first changed their requirements to not requiring the type rating for the interview? I believe it was in 98 or 99.

I have looked and looked to no avail.

Thanks in advance

I believe it was mid summer '99. I interviewed in Jul '99 and they had changed it after I got called to set up the interview.

Slug is correct...I applied early '99, interviewed mid-'99 & shortly after that (within a month or two) the type requirement went away. Hope that helps.

But around the end of August of 2002, Southwest changed the policy once again, requiring a 737 just to apply. The last interviews were in March or April of 2003. In less than one year after 9/11, the apps on file started getting out of hand.

At some point in 2003, they stopped taking apps all together until the new online system was turned on in Jan of 2004.
