SWA and Lasik??

Before I go and spend 7Gs on a type I guess I should find out if Lasik is allowed at SWA. I had it done last week and I now see like a hawk!!! Went from 20/200 to 20/15 in both eyes. Best 3500 bucks I have ever spent! Anyone??

The only medical requirement at SWA is the ability to pass a 1/C FAA medical exam.

If you can do that you're set!

Lasik

If you can hold a FAA Class I from your doctor, SWA won't care. They check to see if your breathing at your interview, but that's as "physical" as they get.

I have not seen one thing in print, nor have I heard it mentioned that LASIK, RK or PRK are disqualifying for employment with WN.

My understanding is 'vision correction' is a CFR Part 67 issue and not an employment issue. I remember a time when if you wore glasses / contacts, DAL would not even interview you ... but once you attended the first day of class your uncorrected vision could go south and still remain an employee.

Moretsky and Cassidy Lasik Vision Correction Center in Mesa Arizona. Dr. Cassidy did my procedure. http://www.arizonalaservision.com/html/faqs.html If you have any concerns or questions PM and I will call ya! I was REALLLLLY nervous before hand and I think they were ready to throw me out the door before the procedure because I was so paranoid! haha.. Just kidding.. They were great!

They use the new Wavefront Lasik procedure. If you haven't read about it, check it out. I guess the Navy is using it on their Seals.
