small planes

I listened to the whole call. Very interesting.

The whole issue of the RJ/Small Jets came up in a Q & A afterward. Kelly basically said we look at everything and haven't discounted anything. He went on to say that one fleet type works for us and he wouldn't expect anything different anytime soon. Assigned seats was also mentioned, but he said that was "right out" too.

Good news all around, I would have liked a little more route growth news.

Did they say anything about a new city? MEM?

General, Gary Kelly didn't mention any specifics on a new city.
I listened to the whole thing and the impression I got was "East".
That narrows it down some!

Did I mention that Gary Kelly is my hero?

In addition,
nothing international either. ie mexico, canada, or caribbean.

Any immediate growth would be domestic.

Of course subject to change.

3Q Reults!!

Congrats to all at LUV. I think it's good news to hear that SWA is stickin' to their historically conservative plan, and it's STILL working. I think it's better than selling planes, routes, and trying to redesign a route structure.

I have a few questions that someone may be able to answer:

1. When will the online application start?

2. I don't know how to ask this, but here it goes anyhoos. There are a lot guys/gals deployed for OEF and OIF. Some probably have apps in with the PD. Do ya'll think the PD will work with them and their deployment schedule to try to help them get an interview? I don't mean to cause a ruckus(sp) here, it's just that most guys/gals have very little time off in between deployments.

Take care and fly safe,

SR
