Anybody know when this will occur? 3rd week of this month?

Also, does anyone know if this is when they'll most likely announce the new city(s) for '04? Or is that usually a separate event altogether?

The last one was great....15 more airplanes for next year! Sure would LUV to hear them top that news.

Aircraft Purchases/Retirements

This question will come up as the 20 Oct conference call occurs. What are the scheduled deliveries/retirements for '04, '05 & '06. The source of this is the SWAPA website. This shows that SWA expects to purchase more non-RJ aircraft over the next 3 years than all other carriers combined. We are fortunate & wish other carriers will continue to rebound.

Here goes:

Nov '03 -- 2 '700's on board
Dec '03 -- 2 '700's on board 1 '200 retirement

total at end of '03 -- 387 aircraft

I have not compared this against the last quarter's 10K listing but I think this listing is pretty accurate for the next 3 years at least. I would expect aircraft to be accelerated to earlier months as has been done in the past & a new city to be announced. My prediction is a hub of one of the major airlines will find a new neighbor there in the next 6 months. My unedcuated guess is PIT, MEM, or MSP. Hope to see the poolies here soon!!! Hang in there.
