I had a SW pilot ride my jumpseat and he mentioned that there is talk of SW mgnt. getting ready to ask for LOA this fall for up to 200 pilots. He added that their team walked out of contract talks, any word if this is true?

My buddy said that that's pretty much the truth. He also says that they will furlough 200 in Jan if they don't get the LOAs. It's pretty much a done deal. He also said that they may just flush the pool and start over since the guys in the pool interviewed in '08 and wouldn't start until '11 at the earliest.

Well if they furlough then I hope they have a plan for when guys will not pick up open time with guys on the street (I hope our guys are strong enough for that)...I hope our union puts forth something saying they do not want guys to pick up any open time with people on the street

Thats a joke....its 2009....even the mighty SWA pilot group will hose their young and pick up flying. We live in an age of credit cards and foreclosures....pilots not flying open time with their young on the street, LOL...this I have to see.

My buddy was a big wig in the union and he says that there's no way to stop this other than shaming people into not doing overtime. He also told me that the contract that was voted on had no provisions for eliminating overtime while guys were on furlough.

He also said that for it to be worth the company's while, a furlough would have to last 18 months to 2 years. So the last guy to get his job back would be looking at the 2012 timeframe.

There's a reason SW is asking for volunteers= there is a much larger process before furloughs- relax all

If this is the case, we would have to reduce the lines agian and take pay cuts. I hope the group is still strong and sticks together. Plus they would have to lay off 500-600 FA's.

You guys are idiots...they just TURNED DOWN a proposal by SWAPA to extend military leave rehire rights to 7 years. Where do you guys get this stuff?

Tanker clown your still on here!!! Holy crap!!

Last time you had insider information I was in the pool and you said we were all hosed. Well been here a while now.......

Stick to internet porn and good luck on your next interview...

Hey ballsucker,

If you haven't noticed, if you are in the SWA pool...you are hosed.

BTW, for you guys that have to reinterview after the pool is flushed, PM and I'll give you the interview prep person that is almost 100% sure to get you in. All my buddies used her and they all got hired. I'm planning on using her.
