The job is for the chief pilot position, the current chief want's to be less involved, I believe he's right around 60, and only want's to hang around for another year or two. As of a couple of months ago he had hired a Delta FO to take over, but maybe he decided to stay at Delta. Stryker is a great company, and I believe they were flying around 350-400 hrs a year. The current CP is a little tough to get along with from what I hear, but like I said he's leaving in a year or two.
 
Why would they not be promoting a captain from within their flight department?
 
The company only has a CP and a Captain. The turnover rate was a new Capt. about every six months. So there really is no one to promote within. For about the last year, I understand they have been using a lot of pilot service.
